About:
In May of 2014, Julia graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts with a concentration in Ceramics.
Throughout most of her college career, Julia's artistic inspiration came from the world of botany and the human body and the relationship between the
two. Having grown up in The Berkshires, surrounded by nature and the beautiful gardens her mother created, this attraction was almost inevitable. The culmination of her undergraduate work was exemplified in her senior thesis exhibition, Lyrical Luxuriance, in which she created a series of plant and body-like sculptural forms. Having recently established her own studio practice in The Berkshires of western Massachusetts, Julia is expanding upon her portfolio, creating both sculptural and functional work that is inspired by the human body and the world of botany.
